Lastly, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Especially since Dread was such an impeccable comeback in pretty much every other facet, it stands out way more. Albeit, I would say this trend started with Other M and Samus Returns didn’t have much in the way of great new tracks either, but sti worrying for the series’ future. An absolute, unmistakable step down from the soundtracks of prior Metroid games. But I’d be lying to myself if I said that, overall, it’s as good as 3D World’s even. So allow me to admittedly cherry-pick a couple of games that lead me to this Super Mario Odyssey has a pretty good OST actually! Jump Up Superstar is an all timer, and there’s highlights like Steam Gardens. And this is going to be kind of a weird OP, because I don’t have one firm stance on the overall quality of them, moreso just a vibe based on a select couple of games that lead to me to feel something is missing and we just… haven’t really gotten much of an all time classic OST from Nintendo this gen. I just wanted to have a home to discuss Switch era OSTs.
